Post-mounted and pad-mounted swing operators are common choices for residential, farm, and light commercial sites.

Post Mounted Swing Gate Operators

Liftmasteer LA500

Touted as primarily a residential operator, we have found the Liftmaster LA500 to be an excellent choise even for small HOAs and commercial applications where the gate is not in constant use. One advantage is that it is easy for homeowners to maintain as the batteries in their (optional)larger metal control box (not shown) are readily accessable. While they require a professional installation, this can usually be acomplished in just a day once power is brought to the gate.

Being a 24 volt system they can continue to operate when the power is out, and accept a wide variety of accessories from other manufacturers.

The included Liftmaster photo-eye has the advantage of having a built-in heater. Photo-eyes are now required, and can be very problematic in our Pacific North West enviroment as the often fog up, preventing the gate from closing.

While remote controls are extra, the operator does include a built-in reciever which also works with the wireless keypad they offer.

USAutomatic Patriot

The Patriot uses a 12 Volt battery like you would find in a car. They are ideal for residential gates having solar power.

Liftmasteer LA400

A lightweight residential operator, The Liftmaster LA400 is a more economical second choice for farms homes with lighter gates.

Also as 24 volt system, they can continue to operate when the power is out, and accept a wide variety of accessories from other manufacturers.

Pad Mounted Gate Operators

Liftmaster CSW24UL

Our go-to pad mounted operator is the The LiftMaster CSW24V, rated for gates 18 ft. long or 1,200 lbs and engineered for a million cycles in high-cycle heavy-duty applications.

One feature we really like is that it uses a D.C. motor and batteries, so it continues to work when the lights go out for a while. Retail on this model is just under $5000 but they also make a number of other models between $4400 and $6400 (sug. retail price.)



Hysecurity SwingSmart DC 20

SwingSmart DC is HySecurity's electromechanical, pad-mounted swing gate operator for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Ultimate reliability is maintained in the coldest, hottest, most humid, driest, saltiest, high cycle, windy, and brutal environments. AC and DC powered (true UPS power provided by 2-7 Ah batteries included). Also includes one IRB-MON photo eye. rated for gates upto 20' and 600 lbs. Retail price is about $500 less than that of the Liftmaster above,
